4-Step Intake Process for Malaer Mental Health Services, PLLC
Getting started with therapy at Malaer Mental Health Services is simple and supportive. Here’s what to expect:

Prospective clients are invited to schedule a free 15-minute virtual consultation to ask questions, discuss goals, and ensure a good therapeutic fit.

Clients may request services via the contact form on the website, by email, or by phone. Kristin will respond within 1–3 business days to discuss availability and next steps.

Once a session is scheduled, new clients will receive a secure link to complete all required intake forms electronically, including the Intake Questionnaire, Informed Consent, and Telehealth Agreement.

The first full session (typically 50 minutes) will focus on building rapport, exploring your goals, and beginning to outline a personalized plan for care.
Service Eligibility Requirements
To ensure clients receive appropriate and effective care, the following eligibility requirements must be met to access services with Kristin Malaer, LCSW. If you’re unsure whether Malaer Mental Health Services is the right fit for your needs, a free consultation is available to help determine compatibility.

Clients must reside in the state of Texas, as Kristin is licensed to provide therapy services only within this jurisdiction. Although I understand that my sessions are virtual, it is my responsibility to ensure clients I see are in a safe, stable location in the state which I am licensed to provide services.

Services are available to adults age 18 and older.

Clients must have access to a private, stable internet connection and a device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) capable of supporting secure video sessions.

Clients must be willing and able to engage in talk therapy, including completing homework or reflection exercises outside of session when applicable.

This practice is not equipped to provide crisis or emergency services. Clients experiencing active suicidal ideation, unmanaged psychosis, or requiring a higher level of care will be referred to more appropriate resources.
